Fantastic course! Big Fish is a blast to play, even in the rain. The layout is unique, with rolling fairways and great scenery that still shine through on a soggy day. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and the course was in great shape despite the weather. Rain or shine, it’s a must-play in Hayward!

Love Big Fish! The staff are outstanding and very polite. The course was in good condition overall with a few bad spots on the greens. Almost expected nowadays with how little rain we have had this year. I was a bit sad that Mulligans was closed on a Sunday, with no cart or anything, but I know it's the end of the season up there. Looking forward to coming back next year.

Big Fish Golf Club is truly a special place. We’ve been playing this course for about 10 years and this was the best condition it’s been in for many years. The golf course design is terrific. The front nine is an open Links style with many waste bunkers and several “diabolical” Pete Dye bunkers. The back is a whole different story, as it’s carved into the rolling north woods landscape. Each hole is memorable and has a unique challenge, whether it’s a bunker carry off the tee or specific angle into the green on the approach shots. The starter Joel was especially kind as we were getting set u…

Hadn't played here for years. Condition of the course is good, Great greens, low maintenance bunkers and overall a great course. Some beat up tee boxes, some bad divot areas but that more of the players fault. Mulligan's is OK, minimal service and items. Staff is very friendly and price is very reasonable. Walk-able course for some good exercise.

Even though me and my son were spectators, we enjoyed the view of all the golfers.

Absolutely incredible course. Big Fish is a true gem in the Northwoods — beautiful, challenging, and perfectly maintained. The front nine has a more traditional parkland style with tree-lined fairways, while the back nine opens up with a classic links feel. Every hole is unique, and the views are stunning, especially in the early morning or late afternoon light. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell they take pride in the course and want every guest to have a great time. Pace of play was smooth, and the clubhouse was clean and well-stocked…

Golfing was a total blast. The staff was fantastic. The golf carts were the most comfortable I’ve ridden in. The GPS was great….gave yardage, flyover and distance you hit the ball.

I’ve always heard about the Hayward area and how it had some great golf. So I decided to get up there and finally try it out. I played Big Fish for the first time back in early June was extremely impressed. The tee boxes are flat, the fairways lush, and the greens roll perfectly. Making a tee time is very easy and the staff has always been very accommodating. I enjoyed it so much that I just wrapped up my third trip in about six weeks up there from the cities to play it. I would highly recommend heading up there!

Very disappointed in the experience at Big Fish Golf course. Rude pro shop staff, rangers on carts threatening to kick our group off course if we don't play faster, while also making us walk to every shot from the cart paths. Course conditions were poor, fairways in rough shape with lots of burnt spots and crab grass. The most unbelievable part was our group being falsely accused of hitting golf balls at houses on hole #16 and being greeted by sheriffs at the green on the 18th hole for questioning.(didn't even get to finish our round since it was a complete surprise we were being accused of in…
