In summary

Avon Fields Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic and challenging layout, featuring hilly terrain and strategic play opportunities, along with a well-maintained clubhouse and friendly pro shop staff. However, some visitors have reported issues with course maintenance, such as wet conditions and fairway quality, as well as negative experiences with certain staff members, which have affected their overall enjoyment.

Excellant run Golf Coure right in the City! A bit hilly and challenging for us Amateurs but perfect for seasoned golfers. We had a class Reunion there and it went so smoothly. Recommend!

I have not played this golf course in many years and forgot how pretty and challenging it is. Avon Fields is a beautiful course inside the City of Cincinnati limits. It has wonderful large trees and plenty of ridges and valleys requiring strategic play. It has some great views and vistas looking out across the valley. There is a nice clubhouse with a rooftop dining area overlooking the course and a small pro shop. This course should be on your list to play.

My boys and I played this course at 5:20 yesterday evening and it was absolutely awesome. Of course, was in decent shape, the employees at The pro shop were super nice and knew it was our first time so they gave us a lot of tips and the course was great and it was just a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back for more. The car was fantastic. The course was easy to navigate. Very impressed.

A great golf outing! Gateway to Giving used Avon for their first fundraiser. It was like our own private club. Greens were plush! Definitely recommend both.

I have played this course weekly with my company league this summer. For my money, there are much better courses out there. Fairways have been pretty spotty all season. Roughs are overtaken by weeds. Tee boxes are not level and not well groomed. Greens are often pretty damaged. They routinely run short on carts. The old man starter seems to have a stick up his rear all the time. The price is right-ish with my league but I would not play here otherwise.

Course is fine. Johnny, the starter, was very rude. When I called to book my round, I asked if it would be possible to get 5 people out in the same group. The person on the phone was very accommodating, and booked us 2 tee times to make it work. I arrived the day of my tee time and paid. I walked outside to get my cart and Johnny asked how many people were playing. I explained the situation and he said we would have to play 2 and 3. I asked if it would be possible to play 2 and 3 at the same time as a scramble. He said, “I told you you ain’t getting 5 out there. Are you not getting the concept…

Short but tight course. Overall good value. Very verbally abusive, nasty, down right aggressive worker toward me after I profusely apologized for driving off the cart path by mistake on a sunny dry day.

The holes are set up fine, but slightly congested. The driving areas are not kept well and have a lot of chips from misses in them. Outside of this, day went fine until a guy came out and made an issue out of our group on the 8th hole. Really unfortunate that the “golf pro” acted like this, so I would avoid the course unless you speed through each hole. The staff seemed as nice as the driving range is, but that one individual seem troubled. Just keep in mind if you want a relaxing normal day of golf it may be found somewhere else.

This place is nice don’t get me wrong, but staff member Johnny Red was really harsh and mean about EVERY LITTLE THING. He split up me and my friends and made two of us play the first 9 again on the turnaround after 9 holes. Then made two more groups immediately after us come to the first 9 again to then wait behind us. He has no idea what he’s doing and was very rude. Will not be coming back here for awhile…

First time playing this course and as a newer golfer. Was welcomed by pro shop, greeted warmly by the starter after finding out it was my first time playing the course, and the grass was in great shape considering the more hilly than average terrain at this point of the season. I’ll definitely be back. I did walk the course and it’s pretty hilly, so FYI to any potential walkers—but I loved it.

I showed up for my tee time and was told there were no carts, so I had to wait around for 25 minutes just to tee off. When a cart finally showed up, the older guy running the starter booth was unbelievably rude and picked a fight with me out of nowhere. Not sure if this guy was having a bad day or what. I was asking him civil questions about grouping and carts and he began to get personal with me, and trying to insult me. The whole place was completely unprepared, and the staff acted like they didn’t care at all. It was so bad I walked into the pro shop and got my money back and left. I advise…

It’s fine. You can’t really lay out a drive bc it is a short course, but it’s pretty well taken care of, and the staff is always friendly. It is convenient and the short course makes the pace go pretty smooth.
