Had the privilege of playing this little gem of a golf club tucked away in Ankeny, IA, this evening. This marks my 14th different course played in Iowa. Ankeny Golf & Country Club is a 9 hole, par 35 private club that was the most casual, laid-back club I've played. It's a great track with mature tree-line fairways and small cantilevered greens typical of an old-school course. The conditions were perfect and a lot of fun holes. Where the course can be attacked by a long hitter, its defense is its slick greens with some crazy slopes. I had a blast playing with my host member and his son! The…
